How much pressure have the birds had? I find they are easier to call late like this if they havent been pressured

The birds a definitely callable this time of the season. You might not have as much luck early off the roost but hang in there with them and give those hens time to head to their nests. When that happens those ol toms go crazy looking for new ladies. Good Luck!

I am having a hard time figuring out which is worse this spring, the turkey hunting or fishing. But you never know.

I hope they r still callable lol.

Been a weird season and haven’t been but a handful of times. Got a free morning tomorrow so I’m going to try and slip off to some public land with hopes of getting lucky. Hopefully they’ll be responsive

I hear ya. We will go one day, catch a mess, and then don't catch squat the next 4 trips.. Or even worse, "BillyJoBob" will go on Thu, catch a limit, and then I go to same spot Fri and not catch anything..

Callable yes!

If it wouldn’t have been for the ditch, creek, or whatever u wish to call the blockage I’d of christened my great grandfathers scatter gun. Took 6 hours to find him and he shook the leaves. First gobbles I’ve heard all year and it did the heart good. The ditch that must of been 7 ft deep and the cotton mouth that was somewhat ticked at my presence didn’t.

Got to find some snake proof breathable waders! 3 miles in wet boots makes for a long walk!

Saw a bunch of hens, several of which were on their nest.

Good luck!
