That may be a while if you are hunting on the river. I saw ungodly amounts of ice jams on the news yesterday up north. I feel for ya, I cut my teeth turkey hunting inside the levee and every year it seems we eventually ended up fighting water. Usually later though.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do for turkey.. Lots of OTC tags, but the only public place close by still has snow .. I'll probably come back to MS in april for a hunt/fish trip ;)

I saw more turkeys where we elk hunt than I ever have this year. Snow doesnt effect Merriam turkeys. They will be doing their thing soon. Matter of fact they were gobbling their heads off when we were there in Nov. If it wasnt for my circumstances at home I would be heading back this year to turkey hunt since the rancher told me that I could hunt them for free. Maybe next year if things are better around home

yeah, i saw tons of turkey while elk hunting, but i'm looking for something withing 1 hr or so of the house.
