Say you where a farily new turkey hunter. What tips would you post up for scouting purposes? What key area's do ya'll believe holds birds?

First i would ask fellow hunters are people who live around the area if they have been seeing an birds in the area.
Then i would go out and look for siges of scratching in the woods. Or look for tracks in muddy areas or creek bottoms.
When you find some sign then go out and listen to see if you can hear a turkey gobble or hens cluck or yelping. ( do this without calling to the birds)

If you can get as lucky as I did find a true turkey veteran, watch him, learn as much as possible, and maybe he can give you good locations. There is great public hunting in MS it just takes time and effort. I'll try to help you if I can.
