Getting the itch

Postby turrettoad13 » Sat Jan 10, 2009 7:15 pm

I've been getting the stuff ready . I set up a old woodland BDU jacket with all the wet weather calls for those bad days. Last Sunday I did a bit of touch up painting on the decoys . Been digging thru the DVD and video tapes . I saw a hen today at the camp when I was driving out after doing some work on a tree for next year . I'ts only 63 days away .

Me too!I can hardly wait,Deer season is over here because I'm still stuck in Texas but having a good place to turkey hunt here makes being homesick for Mississippi a little easier.I hope to come home this spring and try to get a eastern Gobbler.Happy Hunting,Si Harvey

Here's a pic I took a few years ago . Kind of a change of seasons thing for me with the deer track one way and the turkey track going the other .

I took this one from the stand on opening day of 07 .

I ready for it too. However I don't know where I will go. I living in Pearl at the moment, has anyone turkey hunted of at Pear Rive WMA or Copiah County WMA. If so would like to know what the turkey pop. is there.

Maybe I can get my first bird this year, I sure am due for one.

I pulled all my calls out the other night and was drivin the wife crazy practicing. I get weird looks from her and the dogs. Brewer, you can probably hear me from your house. If you hear something that sounds like a wounded hen, it's just me blowin (trying to blow) a mouth call.

I only turkey hunted one time in my life and it was the last day of season last yr. I saw one hen. But last year and this year, I saw a lot of turkey. I got me a shot gun on order at Gary's P&G right now and am gonna give it an honest try this year. I just hope it turnes out better than my deer season this time...
