What is your favorite type of call?
Mine would have to be slate friction call with a Rosewood Striker.
"To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic."

Primos slate call and, don't laugh, a striker I got at the NWTF banquet. It actually sounds pretty good to me. Better than the striker that came with the call.

I'm partial to a custom slate call made by Gary Joffrion who has Magnolia Game Calls. Mine is made of ambrosia mable....beautiful, but sounds even better.

My favorite is a box call I made, killed my first gobbler with it. secondly I like mouth (diaphram) calls, had a knight & hale that was sweet but it rotted on me I can't remember which model it and don't know if they even make it any more. in the past when i have found a good diaphram it will eventually rot and even when I have bought another one of the same brand and make it doesn't sound the same, seems like one out of every 6 or 7 I buy is a good one.
