2014-2015 getting ready

5-3 disked Yukon, red roof inn, k3, firelane,and lucky 14 at camp and Templeton 0,1,2,5 and slough left getting them ready for summer plots

5/17 and 18 redisked the plots harrowed planted and reharrowed the summer plots just waitng on a little rain now


also the built 4 shooting houses and placed them on stand areas at camp..... looking like this season is going to be a lot of fun

Chad the camp I got into about 7 years ago is a great place.. we dicided to do some things differently and it has been a great experience watching what these changes have brought about.. We spend weekends down there all summer as well cause we have land on Bayou Peierre. and the grand gerls absolutely love it...If we can do a few things to make the hunting better as well that's just a bonus... I was really blessed when this opportunity came up a few years back

6/7 went to the lease in hinds county and replenished 3 mineral staions

6/29 rode around in the buggy with a cople of buddies as we put out 2 tons of protein in the troughs, checked on 2 of the salt licks and they finally found one I have been doctorin for 3 summers

JV I sure hope to be, last year I got a little lazy and didn't get some of the things I want to do and the camp I am in has decided to do some things that should help our deer program out.... and I am trying to do some of these same things on my lease as well

8/16 reaaly behind sue to sickness and wife wont let me go into woods until I get full clearance from the dr. so I tinkered with a few loc ons in the garage sat, and sunday early went to walmart and got a couple of bags of pool salt that I will puut out at camp this coming weekend

8/23 got to camp and we disked half the food plots prepping them for lime, also put out 3 bags of salt on the salt licks, kinda late in the year but with it being as hot as it has cant hurt

8/24 welp after having 4 of the 5 tractors at camp have troubles late yesterday we got 4 running today, until I tore up a second disk but we managed to get the other half of the plots ready for lime... 49 plots in all

8/30 at camp for the weekend wife and I rode around and checked 3 of the four cameras :bash: :bash: :bash: got to learn that these aim a bit differentover 2000 pics of deer legs

9-7 went to farm to repair disk spent 3 hours getting it tore apart only to find out I needed more parts thann I had purchased.. o well looks like I know what I will be doing Monday evening

9/8 got t the disk fixed tested it out on the new power line plot at the farm planted chicory and wheat

9/13 woke up to a rainy Saturday morning at camp,,,, no disking today so we worked on equipment and cut a couple of trees down between two members cabins and trimmed the trees on roads ..We also repaired a barbed wire fence at Docs plot got reminded why I hate barbed wire so much

9/14 the guys worked hard on an access trail to the backside of cut thru two I took the bush-hog back there and got it bush hogged. the creek that cut food plot into has washed out the access trail so it had grown up perty good...I even had a 6 ft rattle snake get up on the bush hog.... later in the afternoon put out a feeder on some new land we aquired

9/17 THE PLOTS GOT DISKED ON THE LEASE ON 9/14 BY other members so 2 others and I went out there this evening and planted and drug the 13 plots wheat and oates and fertilizer were put out with new spreader that wwe had to go buy because the old Moultrie decided to quit.... will go back and over cast with turnips and rape after we get a good rain and add more fertilizer to them

9/19 was able to slip away from work and head to camp early, got on the tractor and joined 2 other member redisking the plots

9/20 we put the old camp disk back together(that I tore up 2 weeks ago) so we could have 6 tractors running disk, we got the 50 plots at camp plus 8 plots done on a couple of other leases... while we were disking another member was running the buggy with seed and fertilizer until the axle broke on the buggy, we borrowed a neighbors buggy and 5 gallon bucketed the seed and fertilizer to the borrowed buggy,, back in business...

9/21 disked up 2 more plots at camp early (1 my tractor is the only one that can get to it and the other on a newly acquired 80 spot) stole some seed out of the buggy and planted the isolated plot and drug it, as the buggy finished the seeding we had two tractors harrowing the 50 plots at camp.... got em done about 7 pm... we were some tired whooped arses...

just needing a lil rain now :ylsuper:

9/27 got to camp around lunch time,,, pulled the cards on 2 cameras and relocated one camera and hung a loc on at 160#1
