10/4/14 Finally got to get in a tree... Copiah County winds wnw 69 degrees,,,, cut thru 2, Food plot with a creek running thru it and a big creek along the back side of it in a 9 year old pine thicket... stand is set up on the lil creek where a pin oak s dropping good.. had a spike and a doe come out at 548 and fed all around till 620... the spike got within 28 yards but t he doe would not step within my 40 yard circle... the closest I ranged her was at 42 and I just will not shoot outside the 40 yard range... At 628 had two othe deer ease quickly across the opposite end of the plot grat hunt to start the year with

did forget a couple of things that are now in the back pack flashlight and extra gass bottle for thermocell

10/19 am Copiah county 48* ene wind decided to carry the climber to ellis which has several ridges that are covered with oaks of various species... I chose the ridge that runs north and south on the west side of the bottom that the deer like to fregqunt.... At 620 I was settled in my stand waiting on daylight and what a beautiful morning it was... as light began to filter into the tree I could see deer in the bottom... the first to work up the ridge in range was a spike then a doe and then 3 more does one of the three had a fawn trying to nurse as she fed and walked... the first doe had gotten almost directly under me so I had to let her get aa fewe yards from the tree... as I drew the bow back I was trying to watch all the deer that could bust me got drawn and let the nap spitfire work,,, 715 doe down dropp 30 yards down in the bottom great morning hunt

day 5 Grant city 33* s at 5 back to old faithful... at 645 I had a doe on other side of river and watched her cross over at 703 she finally presented a shot and she completely ducked the arrow..at 730 the 8 point that I had let pass on day 2 (little louey) was crossing the corn field. I did a snort wheeze at him and he abrubtly turned around and came into the woods he circled down wind and finally came into range at 32 yards and I shot right over his back being dumb...I sat dejected and 20 minutes later I had a nother doe coming through at 830 I let a arrow fly and connected she made it back to the rive and had to wade to retrieve her....

no pm hunt
