Went to family land at 6 am waded literally across all field had a foot of water... Neighbors place I did see a bunch of turkeys and could not interest them in any chit chat... at 8 am decided to wade back to the truck and go to a family friends land I hunt... same thing all under water. I drove around in the country just looking then saw many abird in fields but none that I can hunt.... Late afternoon decided to go to my grand dads land and roosted a couple. Went there sunday morning with hi hopes... Fly down took the birds to the neighbors pasture where they stayed until I decided to leave at noon

3/21/09 Beinville draw hunt

arrived at 5;30 am and started walking to my lil listening spot... Got there about 6;20 am and sat down to listen... at 6;36 he let loose with a couple of gobbles about 200 yards from me.. I moved to a place I thought was a good set up and settled in. after a few minutes I made a couple of soft yelps on my slate and he answered.... I waited a few minutes and did a few purrs and clucks and he cut me off... I put the calls down and listen to him gobble a couple of times.... He sounded as though he had hung up so I made another purr and nothing.... so I figured he hung up on a small ditch so I sat tight for 30 minutes still hearing nothing.. but did have 7 deer walk within 20 yards of me..... after the 30 min wait I got up to go see what could have happened, walked 30 yards when I saw the gobble and he saw me....and flew off .... he was headed right toward me.... He had walked to where a small ditch plays out and crossed and was coming.... I should have sat and waited longer but :smash: :smash: thats turkey hunting....

I did walk over this area perty good after that to check it out and make a plan for a later hunt.....

As I was checking out another spot I had one gobble at 1;25 pm onew time.. I closed the distance a little and got him to gobble again about 150 yards from me. so I got set up next to 2 big pines and made a couple of calls. He gobbled again seemed to be headed my way.. Thats when I saw another hunter running along the ridge top and never heard nor saaw the bird. Thats public land for you
