We would invite you over for supper, but........

we were able to get only one. :D Made a round with GUS this morning and it looked like we were not going to get anything done. Finally, GUS started telling on one and I made my way to him and surprisingly he stayed put on the tree. After a little bit, I found the squirrel and was able to get him down to GUS. The squirrel was not finished and was able to get a few bites in on GUS. BUT Ol Gus took care of the situation !!!! Completed our round with a few more trees but between dens and pines we were able to get this one. May not seem like much to some of you, but I have made several steps behind this pup and I think that I have kept LaCrosse in business this year so it tickles me to get to shoot a single out to GUS. Maybe one day we can show you a limit !!!

Gus is catching on, keep him in the woods and he will be fine. Congrats on a good hunt with your pup.

That was a fine hunt! If he did what you wanted him to then it was a total success. Numbers will come with experience. Give him a little time and you will need a tailgate with side-planks.

Are you sure you don't have my dog? Those 2 sure do look alike. I know exactly how you feel. Getting one at a time is how it starts. Like you I'm tickled to see just one on the tailgate. For now anyway.
