Another Squirrel Hunt

Postby gtk » Mon Feb 13, 2012 8:40 am

Just wanted to thank bullie & 4thhorseman for taking me & bwm's kid squirrel hunting yesterday. We had a blast!

It was a beautiful afternoon to be in the woods.

We were blessed to be in the presence of 4th's ninja squirrel hunting abilities.

bullie, i still have crawfish on my mind this morning!

No story really. I was just amazed at 4thHorseman's squirrel hunting ability. He had the ability to "sense" squirrels. He could pick up the vibrations in the air generated from the squirrels heartbeat. Even if the squirrel was on the other side of a tree from 4th, he could see the aurora around the squirrel, and point us in the right direction.

Supposed he learned almost everything from Bullie.

While it is true that I taught Fourthhorseman much about squirrels and squirrel hunting, I had little if anything to do with him developing his aura detecting skills. I had no idea that he could see/sense the heart beat of a squirrel until I saw him shoot one through a hollow section of tree one day. There was no way he could see the squirrel from his position...but he sure killed it.

I am sure he will be around later to offer explanation about his fantastic squirreling skills.

I don't really like to brag so I won't say much except that I am pretty much the thing that goes bump in the night in the minds of squirrels. I am the fear that keeps them from the trees shadows and the terror that holds them like concrete to the inside of a hollow limb. If you have ever seen the movie predator then you'll kinda understand what I'm talking about. I can see there heartbeat ripple through the air like somethin from the Matrix and I can hear there them breath as they try to hide. I do believe I am hearing them breath so well because they have felt my presence thus there heart rates sky rocket and there breathing becomes labored with fear. Sometimes I have to go into full stealth mode, which I stopped long enough one time to give Magshooter a chance to photograph me in action. I am sure he would love to post said Photo so yall can see me in all my AWESOMENESS. While I have gained endless amounts of knowledge about the squirrel from my good friend Bullie I have to take all of the credit for my NINJA type abillities for myself. I am the Squirrel Commander!!!!!

I would have to say that he has emerged from the shadow of The Great One and spread his own wings for sure. When you get to seeing auras and all that...well, you have found your own squirrel hunting niche.

We had a great time with him bwm. He has really good manners and was always mindful of his gun. And, just like GTK's son and nephew he is welcome to hunt with me anytime he wants. I hope the advanced squirrel hunting techniques that fourthhorseman described weren't too much for him though.

He sure looked like he was having a good time.

Once the young man found out he didn't have to work the bolt on that 10/22 after every shot he started keeping up with 4th and gtk's rate of fire. They didn't tell him he was shooting a semi-auto until after they busted a few squirrels out. They were afraid of his sniper skills.

I was bragging to bwm, about his son's "respect" for his gun. I can honestly say, there are not many 10 year old kids that I would give a gun to and still feel comfortable around, but I was completely at ease with him.

bullie, I think bwm's kid said he "dreamed he owned a squirrel dog" that Sunday night :)

Mag I am glad you were able to post those so people could see just a couple of my Super Stealthy Ninja type Camoflauge skills. Now I don't want anyone getting discouraged knowing they aren't anywhere near the calliber of Super Stealthy Squirrel Sniper I am but with many many many years of practice it can be achieved. I do believe that young man is most deffinitely on the right path to becoming a true Super Stealthy Squirrel Sniper of the highest calliber. Dad (BWM) lets get'em a automatic 10/22 with a BSA sweet 22 scope for Christmas or something.
