Dang Squirrel Hunters

Postby gtk » Thu Mar 01, 2012 8:28 am

Dang squirrel hunters are going to end up taking over the world.

I admit, I have the squirrel hunting bug. Every person I've taken with me on a hunt with Bullie, seems to have gotten the bug. When I walk from building to building at work, I catch myself scanning the trees for squirrels. When a squirrel runs in front of me at work, I catch myself trying to determine whether it would meet Bullies standards or not..

Looks like Jbullard has been bitten by the bug also . It seems that anybody that goes squirrel hunting with dogs had a fire lit under them.

Could it be because its so enjoyable?

What will happen to the deer population when more people are squirrel hunting instead of deer hunting. Will the mdwpf start a "squirrel program" like the "Deer Program" ?

I have enjoyed squirrel hunting since I was a youngster. Had a couple of pretty good dogs growing up then I just got completely away from it.
Yes I want to get back into it and have a dog to help me :2TU:

I doubt squirrel hunters will ever exceed deer hunters in numbers, but mdwfp needs to start a squirrel management program

Have spent a few hours chasing after those critters myself. ;) Need to light a fire under me and get back at it though.

That's gonna be a 'spensive program to enact. Seeing as how I own the idea.

I've hunted squirrels with a dog, without a dog, with a 22 rimfire, and a shotgun. Beside hunting with old Ring I like hunting with a .32 caliber flintlock muzzleloader. :)
