My Yeller Dawg Coonin

Postby vahunterinms » Sun Jun 10, 2012 11:02 am

An awesome night of coon runnin down at Arkabutla lake. The night Started out slow but ended with a bang! As we were walking back to the truck I decided to make my way toward the pond that was in the area and boy was that the right move. Petey right away jumped on a track and started working it out. As we were standing in a small field I hear something I had never heard before, that was Petey opening up on track and put the coon to the tree in a hurry! When we got to the tree Petey was wide open and hammerin away. Soon after we arrived to the tree Jr spots the coon and it was on!! I got so excited I forgot the take pictures lol.

Here is a shot of Petey from last weekends coon runnin.

I was down at the farm picking blackberries this afternoon at the farm, and a dang coon walked out 20 yards from me, looked at me with a sort of disgusted look, and ambled off down a corn row. This was at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Sounds like you need to have Petey pay that coon a visit come July.

I'd be scared of turning petey loose around there.. too many houses/roads for a coon hunt... squirell hunt would probably be ok, but if a coon might take him across too many roads !

Might not be good to turn Petey loose but it would be fine to turn Jr loose.. lol.. Jr loves to shine his coon light in the tree tops for coons. Him and his buddies do it when they visit his families properties..
