Great hunt with friends!!!

Postby vahunterinms » Mon Jul 16, 2012 6:05 pm

Had a great night with friends. Dave and his brother Daniel met at my house tonight for a coon hunt. Jr had his friends Wil and Dallas Saunders. We all set out to Arkabutla Lake for a coon hunt. After gearing up the dogs and ourselves we cut the dogs loose (Petey, Hunter, and Dixie). Dogs got out some and hunted pretty good but no coons were found. We started back towards the truck to hunt another spot. We proceded down the trail when Petey took off running a track. Shortly after He was treed. We made it to his tree and found the coon looking! Called one of the young guns in for the kill and boy he put the hammer on his butt.. Good job Wil!!! After getting the coon I decided to turn Petey loose again.. In no time he was running another track and was treed in less than 15 minutes!!! Got to the tree at the edge of a small pond and seen eyes then all of a sudden someone screams SNAKE!!!! Leashed Petey up and headed to the truck!! The Snake stopped the hunt!! Guys I had a great time and looking forward to the next hunt!!!

The word "Snake" tends to stop a lot of hunts! :smash: :smash:

I am fully aware of the regulations, that's why you see only one coon in the picture...
Thanks for the reminder.. :)
Nothing in the regulations that states we cannot run the coons..

i know we did it a time or two when I used to coon hunt... I'm trying my best to remember if the guy I hunted with actually had a squaller , or he used his mouth..
