Small Game & Varmit hunting Talk

Saturday Sept 1st

Postby dunalf05 » Thu Aug 30, 2012 11:59 am

Anyone concerned about how Issac may affect the opener? Anyone have experience with hunting doves after a lot of wind and rain?

Thoughts?

I have been on good hunts in the rain. What usually messes them up in my experience is a big temperature change. We haven't had that so maybe the birds will stay put for a few days.

How did everyone's morning go? I only saw a couple here in Benton county. Heard fewer shots than normal too. Came home with one dove. One shot one kill. But a very slow opener.J

Killed plenty and had a great time. Good food, good friends, and the kids had a blast.

Our field was a bust.... I shot at 7 in am and killed 4 then pm I was 1 for 2. The farmers cut corn this week and pulled all our birds. Going to another field next weekend hoping for more birds.

Morning hunt was a bust. Shot one. Hunted a different field in the pm and limited out. Great times with good group of guys. The wind really was pushing them when they had it to their backs!
