Otter question

Postby BIGERN76 » Sat Dec 29, 2012 9:29 am

I can't find very much about otters in the regs. I saw where they can be trapped but was wondering if they can just be shot. We have 2 on our lease that are wiping out our fishin ponds. I have some traps (im not a trapper) but don't have any idea if there is a scent or something else to bait them with. Any info would be great.
Thanks,
Ernie

I used to set traps during the winter for something to do and make a little extra money, I just set snares and conibear traps on their trail and caught a few. I got $75 for otters and $20 for beavers (not sure if they are legal to sell) but that was about 10 years ago.

If cleaning out the pond. I would use the humane way to eradicate them. K-BOOM.
