seaking of coyotes.....

Postby danielw » Fri Dec 25, 2009 6:01 pm

Have any of yall seen a black coyote, and do they hang around in the same area as foxes? Reason I ask, is that Thur. morn. I was overlooking a cutover from a brushpile and noticed a fox leaveing the immediate area. As soon as the fox was good and out of sight, out popped this solid black dog. Thinking it might be a house dog, I scoped it and decided that it was a coyote (since I have seen ONE black coyote before). BUT I didn't thnk that coyotes and foxes hung around in the same area, especially within 100' of each other. I don't think that this was a "silver fox", which are fox that have a black coat of fur with a white tipped tail.

What yall think?

thats pretty cool , never seen a black coyote before .... has anyone ever tried coyote hunting in south mississippi? was wondering if its worth the time and effort.
any ideas on how to hunt them, dont have any openings other than food plots and roads. most of the land is thick oaks and some pine with the whole (160 acres) surrounded by cutover ranging from 2 to six years old.... Want to find something else to hunt before the wifey find s more for me to do around the house. Is it legal to hunt bobcats and 'yotes at night ?

I may get in trouble for saying this but im going to anyway, no coyote will sit and watch me do anything without AT LEAST being shot at!!! i hate them!!! wouldnt mind having the hide of one of those black ones tho!

Didn't have much choice. It was bow season and she was probably 75 yards away.

might be because you're so scared of them.

Kinda like when Jeremiah Johnson asked Bear Claw why that Indian was hollering at him ...
