A Hunt Above

Postby Smacko » Wed Oct 29, 2008 8:56 am

Hey everyone,
I need to ask ya'll for prayer and some help. I'm national Director of an organization called "A Hunt Above", http://www.ahuntabove.org , and we have three children we are taking hunting in the next month. The prayer is needed because several of the funding sponsors were unable to send donations due to the state of the economy. As of this time, we have everything covered except for about $400 - $500, which will cover the cost of fuel to get the children to the hunting facilities. We are taking a 9 year old girl with a severe nerve disorder hog hunting in Texas in two weeks, and then we have two boys (10 & 11) with Leukemia we are deer hunting with in Mississippi around Nov. 15th - 16th. If anyone knows of any individual, business, or church that might be interested in making any type of donation (money, hunt, hunting supplies, or volunteering time), we are a Christian based 501c3 non-profit organization, and we can send a donation receipt for taxes, if requested. Also, if anyone has any leads or ideas they could contact me with, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for your prayers and support in this, and I hope that everyone has a safe and successful hunting season.

we have something that is military wide called the CFC that most people in the military donate money too. the CFC has a list of organizations that you can choose to donate your money too.

you may want to look into having your organization added to it.

here's the website for it

we helped droptines over at the other site using paypal. If you have pay pal, maybe we some of us could send a few bucks and help out. Just post it up if you have it.

Mike, I feel the same as tombstone. If you have a paypal account or some way to take a donation, let us know. I'd be willing to send what I can.

Hello Friends,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you on behalf of A Hunt Above for choosing to make a difference. The gift's some of you gave will truly make a "dream" come true for a child and their family, and in this time of economic hardship, our organization could not function without caring people such as yourself. We ask that you would please share our organization, and it's mission with every one you feel could be of assistance to us, as we have more request for our services being submitted weekly, and financial support will be needed to make these future "Dreams" possible. We consider you as part of the A Hunt Above team/family, and we pray and thank God for you and your tremendous heart. We also ask that our Lord would Bless you and your household according to Ephesians 3:20 - "...exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think...."
Again I would like to thank you on behalf of the organization and all that will be touched by your gift, and ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers.

Smacko writes about the recipes for deer liver and hearts, I wonder if he realizes I do not have any of either. It is still nice to read the recipes. Just kidding Smacko.

I placed Smacko recipes in the wrong area so just chalk it up to I do not know what I am doing. To justify my mistake the Odd Fellows are preparing a small check to help The Hunt Above. We feel this is a worthwhile cause and wish we could help more. We might let the other Lodges in Mississippi know so they may wish to help. Wishing you luck is just not enough for all you do for the disadvantaged and sick children. We are in the process of fixing up food baskets for the needy but---children are still in our mind and stronger at Christmas time. We will call on a family this morning to make sure they will have their Christmas needs taken care of and more.
A Hunt Above is still the main thing on our mind. GOOD LUCK SMACKO
