New tower blind

Postby patinlouisiana » Wed Dec 21, 2011 9:32 am

We are building us a new tower box stand to put in the middle of our recently cutover area.
It is a 4' x 4' box on legs.
It is about 24' to the window ledge.
Pics to follow.
I sure hope my buddy got our dozer running :pray

Be sure to mount a signal beacon on the top so the crop dusters won't hit it. They have a lot of those metal tower stands on Camp McCain from which I have hunted many times. They are awesome. You are going to enjoy that stand.

Nice looking stand. When you build the ladder make sure to put a landing half way up. That way the old folks can stop to take a break on their way to the top. :)

Looks good, as high as that thing is, it should catch lightning bolts real good, a rod might be a good idea.

New tower blind

First morning hunt from the new tower. Had a single doe pass within 80 yards around 6:50. Fog is getting thicker. I had to pull all the windows as they were covered with dew.

Smart move on the window padding... After years of bumping my rifle against the wood frame, I finally put some padding around my windows.. Much much quieter.

Looks like a good stand. If work slows down maybe you can start to mass produce them..:)
