Any one ever made one out of a old push or ridin mower?

I saw one out of push mower looking a box blind plans and got me to thinking. I got a couple old pushers I could put together.

Excuse my brevity.

Hmmm.. I am thinking with some rigging you could come up with something useful. I wouldnt mind seeing someone do it

I woudln't think a push mower would have enough "ummph" to use on thick stuff.. A riding mower probably would though..

yea i thought about that. but the one i saw was used in clover plots and were not real big and brushy. i was thinking that after you got them mowed once it would be better. plus mowing them kinda high at about 6 or 7 inches.

The problem with most push mowers for brush work is how the blades connect directly to the motor shaft. The older "Big Wheel" mowers were not like that, but almost all the the newer ones are. There needs to be some sort of "clutch" action to protect the shaft from bending when you hit stuff like limbs and bricks, etc.

Back when I was a super redneck engineer I took a 42" cut Craftsman 16 hp mower and turned it into a 78 inch cut yard mowing demon using a detachable toolbar and 2 20 inch cut push mowers...
