I have not but they have decent reviews. Before you buy do yourself a favor and look at the superwinch terra 2500 or 3500 series. I will be getting one for my rancher soon. The tons of customer reviews I have been reading have me sold. Awesome customer service, warranty and well made. I can't afford a overpriced warn which after my research I learned you pay allot just for the name brand.

3500 would be good for you. . If you were really gonna be mud bogging I would throw a snatch block in the bed

I'm pretty sure that's what my son just put on his 4-wheeler. I know it came from harbor freight and was much less exspensive than most others he looked at. The only negative we have found so far is the control is wireless. When you push the button either way, there is a delay both starting and stopping. He uses it to tie down to the trailer when we haul them and it's difficult to get it stopped where you want it. Other than that I can't tell you anything else since he has not had to use it.

i just recently got a fourwheeler... I'm used to getting my 300 unstuck, simply by picking it up & man-handling it out.. This new bike, a 500, is so heavy there is no way I could pick it up..

this is what I was thinking about putting on my fourwheeler..

look at the specs on those badlands from harbor freight, duty cycle of 5% (45 sec at Max Rated Load; then wait
14 min, 15 sec Rest)

can you wait that long? :bash: :smash:

good point.. .what is the cycle duty of the more expensive winches ?

The Manual wrote:The Duty Cycle defines the amount of time, within a 15 minute period, during which a Winch can operate at its maximum capacity without overheating. For example, this Winch with a 5% duty cycle at its maximum load must be allowed to rest for at least 14 minutes, 15 seconds after every 45 seconds of continuous operation. Failure to carefully observe duty cycle limitations can easily over - stress a Winch contributing to premature Winch failure

Have a viper 4500lb on my ranger. It has been great! There customer service was good too, when I received it there was only the remote control switch. They sent me a entire hook up, remote, and rocker switch. It pulled my ranger and 6x14' trailer loaded with firewood.

Well... ya get what you pay for... My 3,500 llb harbor freight winch wouldn't fit .. it was just a hair too wide and the positive post was hitting metal.. So I took it back and got the 2,500 lb winch.. it looks & feels like it is made much cheaper than the 3,500..

oh well.. .if it lasts a few years it will have served its purpose, then I'll get a good one..
