Opinions please

I think I'm going to sell my electric EZ Go Sport golf cart and replace it with either a Polaris Ranger XP 900 or a Kawasaki Mule 4010 Trans 4x4. It's a tough decision for a lot of reasons. I think the Ranger is a better overall choice, but the warranty is pitiful (6 months) compared to the Mule (3 years). The Ranger has a larger fuel tank, more power, higher ground clearance, and a much higher price. What do y'all think? :?

flipper,
both are good choices over electric transport.
Hard to bring a can of electricity to your cart when you run out.
I'm a Honda man myself but my brother in laws have both Kawasakis and Polaris units and I don't recall either one be more problematic than the other.
But just to be sure what I think (My Opinion) you should do is get both and when you figure out which one is best for you then give me the other.

You know where you hunt better than me but if the ground clearance could be an issue, go with the Ranger. I don't care for the mules because they are so low.

I'm sure you could, but it's probably pricey like the Ranger itself. Looks like it should be at least a year warranty since they make such a good product. Six months won't even get me through next hunting season. Of course I'll be using it a lot before then.

Flipper, have you checked on the Yamaha's and Honda's to check them out. Heard a lot of good reports from the Yamaha's but I can't say either way.

We bought Honda and Yamaha 4 wheelers years ago. Wasn't too happy with the Yamaha, but we loved the Honda. I just wasn't real crazy about the Honda Pioneer when we looked them all over on Saturday.

flipper,
My best friend had a mule and it was a great utility vehicle but when he decided to hunt out of it, he had to add a lift kit and bigger tires to get thru the terrain on his hunting place. When it gave up the ghost, he went with a Ranger. The Ranger is a much better hunting vehicle in my opinion. If you decide on the Ranger, see if you can get the dealer to throw in an extended warranty as part of the deal.

I have a 2007 mule3010 and I wouldn't trade it for the world, it is limited on the terrain that it will travel thru but when it comes to working it is the best utv available,,, its not a mud riding or racing vehicle at all. but when we are putting protein in the feed troughs it hauls more and we always ending up using the mule over the other members ranger while doing that.. If you got some really bad areas that you are gonna be riding in and want to play more the ranger fits the bill... I have a t-rex for playing but I am about to trade it for an electric buggy cause I done got to old to be playing that much

both buggies you are looking at are great buggies... you just got to decide on what your prefernces are, you cant go wrong with either

OK let me ask a question.
Are you looking for a high speed deep mud vehicle or an old man vehicle just to work out of and retrieve a deer.
I had a Kawasaki Mule diesel here during deer season that would wade water a foot deep but only ran 11 MPH
It did everything I needed it to.

Y'all are the best at giving good advice. I decided I didn't want the speed and I won't be putting it in lots of mud. It will be used mostly for hauling feed around, running up and down the different field roads, fencing, and doing other stuff in the pastures, and hopefully hauling trophy deer home. The 4010 Trans Mule is what I ended up with and they gave me an awesome deal at Brookhaven...... RT Powersports. I highly recommend them! Great folks who will bend over backwards. Nice looking dealership too. They beat Got Gear in Ridgeland by $700. I am really happy with the Mule. It sits up higher than the 3010 and is a really smooth ride. At least to me it is. It goes plenty fast enough too.

Or you could have bought two live mules. Eight wheel drive, but only 2 horse power. Would not get stuck, good ground clearance, no oil change needed, no parts to grease. And good fule mileage.
