Well, I walked about a hundred miles and saw one squirrel. So I kilt it. The way I figure it, 8 to 10 more trips like this one and we'll have enough to eat. :rotflol: How come when I'm deer huntin I can see 20 squirrels and they all get within 30 yards of my stand but when I'm squirrel huntin they get real hard to come by?? :? Oh well, the walk did me good and I will be back next weekend. Thanks for reading.

If I judged all of my hunting by the numbers on the tailgate, I would have quit a long time ago. The anticipation of what might happen is what keeps me going. At least your gun wasn't lonely sitting there all by itself.

At least you were out there in pursuit of the noblest of game animals....the wily squirrel. A lot of part-time squirrel hunters come in from a hunt with their hats in hand this time of year. It seems they have dumbed themselves down to wood goat hunt and forget to change gears, if you wil,l for a higher caliber game and the challenge it provides. This may have been what happened to you.

You should still be proud though. It is a fine looking squirrel.
