How is yalls season going?

Mine has been slow so far. I've killed a few squirrels but I'm trying to get my pup going good. He's doing better every time out. I'm proud of him.

Hi Chase. It has been kind of a slow start for us too due to the weather. We have been doing a little coon hunting and a little squirrel hunting.

Very slow year for me.
Only went after them once and saw none.
But whet the heck I'm having fun with good friends and I'm not at work.
Switched to the larger critters as soon as that season opened and not doing to bad with that.
Oh and they do love my trail cameras.

My season hasn't gotten started yet. It's about to crank up this week since she has weened her puppies. I can't wait.

Thanks Chase! In my area it's hard to make myself get out in the woods with some of the ignorant deer hunters we have. Too many are hoping for the opportunity to shoot a dog. There is a major war going on between deer dog hunters and still hunters in the Homochitto national forest that is close to where we hunt. Plus with her color she looks too much like a deer. The good part is, as fast as she moves through the woods, not many would be able to hit her.

Anyway, we have plans to try it this week and see if we can knock a few out to her and a friend of ours' young dog. He was coming on strong last year and I am excited to see them on the ground together again. This is Shiloh, our female, with my son after one of our hunts last year.

I am in Natchez and we can get together for a hunt later this year once we get her back into shape a little. The puppies took a lot out of her. Heck, we might just go gang up on LadyHunter's squirrels if she is willing. You are doing the best thing you can to make a good dog, putting them in the woods. Nature will take care of most of the rest. Basically, obedience training and woods time is most of what they need. I know you have pictures, hint, hint.

Very good looking dog. Keep putting him on the ground. It's hard to beat the amount of fun you can have with a good squirrel dog.

Thanks! I'm excited about his potential. We made a few trees this evening but all were in den trees.

HI Chase and welcome!!

My season hasn't been up to participate this year due to the weather but it's getting right. If work will allow me to hunt some this year we might do good.
The little hunting we have we have done good. This long weekend will be getting my dog Pete ready for the World hunt next weekend.

Keep doing what your doing and you will have a fine dog!! He's a looker!
