Birds of Summer

Postby flipper » Sun Apr 12, 2015 5:20 pm

Been sick the last few days, but felt like sitting on the deck this afternoon. Got a few good shots...

The first hummingbird I have seen this year was March 31. One little one seems to have decided to call this home. Had another one for a couple of days but lately have just seen the small one.

If I didn't have around a hundred pine siskins and a few goldfinches mixed in taking over my patio most of the day, I might actually have a chance to see more hummingbirds.

I wish we had more varieties here. I would love to see some of those turquoise ones and purple ones. The way these Ruby Throats are feeding, I might ought to get some big ol' bags of sugar like they use to have at Sam's.
