hunted at my Hinds county lease this past weekend and didnt see a deer at all...... Wife and I took the grandgersl to a cookout at camp sunday evening(cookout was for my buddies son, PFC Brandon Holifield, as he was heading back to Afghanistan monday after his 2 week r & r leave). Whilst we were there I took the girls for a ride on the t-rex and we hung a climber that I hope to get the right wind for this weekend

I managed to get in a little treestand time Sunday eve but only saw a couple of does. I didn't want to shoot one of them this early with all the buck pictures I've had the past few weeks. It looks like this weekend will be great weather and much cooler temps so maybe they'll be on their feet. Good luck fellas!

Had a scan on Monday, got results on Wednesday.

Clean.... no cancer, beat it another 6 months.

Do have two lymphnodes in my bad leg swollen more than usual. Doc says it could be from fluid swelling in my leg. Will get another scan in 6 months.

Vein to my heart, where they inserted the medport needle when I first had to have treatments, is constricting from sheathing and scar tissue.

Blood is passing in the forks of the vein. Nothing to worry about right now.

Leg is killing me. Pain is so intense I have to ea loratabs everyday to just get through day. Doc gave me a prescription for a long time so I can hunt without pain.

Looking forward to November 12 BP opener.

Great news rajun. I wish gun season would hurry up and get here too. I am doing some chores tgis weekend and probably wont hunt much. Yesterday when i got home i decided to go to a gun blind i have on a powerline thats close to the road. Planted a small plot there a few weeks ago and was just gonna take my bow and see if i could figure out a way to shoot out of it in case some deer showed up. Since its close to the road, i figured it would be a near dark hunt so i waited till 5:30 to head that way. When i reached the powerline i eased around the side and saw a deer eating in the plot. I stepped back into cover and got my gear ready and loaded an arrow. Then i slupped my shoes off and eased back out and put the blind inbetween me and the deer, and then i crept forward. The powerline runs downhill and the plot is at the bottom, with the blind about halfway up, so the blind was giving me good cover. I snuck my way up to the blind then got on my knees and caught my breath. Then i eased my head around the side of the blind and saw the deer still grazing with its head down. It looked a little further away than i had first thought though. I eased back behind the blind, grabbed my bow, drew , and on my knees i eased out for the sgot. I selected my 30 yard pin and let her fly. And i watched the arrow slide right under the deer. Shoulda used the 40 pin dadnabit! Ohh well, i missed the deer completely and she ran in the woods blowing, i waited around 15 mintes then retrieved my arrow and headed home.
Gotta go back and put some distance markers.

thanks for postint for me LG snd thanks for the congrats guys. That is a redemption doe because sat morning I made a bad shot on a doe that we did not recover. I shot at her quartering away and as I was releasing the arrow she stepped and I hit her high and in the front part of the hind quarter. Followed blood for a mile and across 2 neaghbors(after geting permission) never foound her.....was dejected as all get out to the point that I had thought about putting the bow up the rest of this year and wasint on gun season.... My buddy gave me a good chewing one and told me I needed to get on back in the stand.... and this doe is the result of that... God has a way of letting you know things and the reason I say that is this doe was standing in the exact same spot at the muffed saturday doe.....

Got another doe. Went this afternoon to the ole reliable powerline that ive seen deer 6 out of 8 hunts. The spot is close to the road and not much of a buck spot but the does sure seem to love it. Had two does and a youngen come in at 4:40. The youngen was still in spots so i passed on the two does not knowing which was the momma. Later on another big doe entered the plot by herself and i watched her graze for a while then decided it was getting dark enough for me to go ahead and pop her.

Shew...she was more work than i figured. I shot her high and back. She didnt run far but after she left the plot there was no blood trail. Took me a while to track her down thru the briar patch. Plus i was all alone and had to clean her by myself.
Note to self...dont shoot anymore does untill theres a sucker close by to help ya clean it.
