wut thrust TM do I need to be able to go upstream in ms river...15 foot alumacraft with 25 hp outboard and 400 pounds of other gear in boat...

At least 70# thrust

You might try a 50#

My tracker has a 45 and it'll barely go into the wind.

Um 25 hp miter probably will be your best bet

ok thanks any yall ever tried any trolling motors other than motorguide or minnkota and had luck with them?

yeah but the trolling motor is for backup plan incase outboard breaks down and for running limb lines etc

do any yall have foot controlled trolling motors on your jon boats? wanted to see if yall could take a picture of how yall mounted it on the bow(had a aluminum bracket welded or whatever)....right now I just have a twist bracket hand controlled trolling motor on the bow

I was being serious especially on the Mississippi River. Why not you outboard to go upstream and float down stream using trolling motor to control direction of boat? Would use way less battery then trying to troll upstream.

just cause I wanna put out bunch of lines close together in log jam areas etc and easier to use trolling motor and wanna bass fish some in river when its low...going downstream is too fast...I like to fish upstream and cast upstream...fish face upstream...
