Pickwick Lake with Chadbragg

Postby Smacko » Sun May 31, 2015 3:32 am

Chadbragg and I went to Pickwick Lake Saturday afternoon. This was my first time on this lake. I caught my first Mississippi Smallmouth Bass. Threw it back because it was to small. Ended up with 5 bull bream and 4 catfish. Now waiting on Chad to complete his beauty sleep to hit the lake again this morning.

If I'm right the stateline ramp is right off highway 25
My youngest brother used to fish in crappie tournaments all the time and fished there a good bit and said that is a good place to put in and he liked to start out at the ramp in jP Coleman state park and fish the creeks off the main channel.

Yes sir. Stateline is on the TN side right off 25. They actually have 2 ramps that'll hold 4 boats each. They aren't very steep and prolly the easiest parking. It's no wake zone for several hundred yards, so ya gotta idle a while.

Final count was 8 bream and 16 catfish. All the catfish had cicadas in there stomach. It was unreal of the amount. Guess those flying things do have a purpose.

Mike,I know a guy that uses them for bait. He says as soon as it hits the water you got a catfish.
