Nice. That is the biggest "pond" crappie I have seen. Wish the ones in my pond would get that big.

we used to have a pond full of crappie.. every once in a blue moon you could catch a good crappie, but most were not much bigger than the bream

Crappie make bazillions of babies. You have to thin them out any way you can.

These are hybrids they do not reproduce haven't caught any small ones

I wouldn't mind some crappie in our 14 acre lake, if they didn't reproduce..

Mine might reproduce but the bass take care of them I think. Never catch any dinks. I just dont have any that top out very big. After hammering the bass last year that might change. But I plan on cutting my levee in the fall and filling my lake in so I guess we will see.

Your the 2nd person this year who told me they are ready to fill in their lake..

our lake is overcrowded . not enough feed. small bream, small bass, catfish so-so size.. i guess i'd have small crappie too ..

i keep saying I am going to start putting threadfin shad in for food.

I was told I needed to do it. Worried that the EPA might try to classify below my levee as a wetland(which it isnt) which means I cant do anything with it or have to go thru mitigation. Beating them to the punch sort of :W:

When we lived at Potts Camp we had our pond stocked with hybrid crappie that was not suppose to reproduce.

And they will do exactly that. Especially if you have farm loans already or apply for new ones. A huge portion of our property is designated wet lands by the government.

I am satisfyed with the hybrids testicles about 5 years ago after a turnover the crappie and bream are big don't have many catfish bass are small catch a few big ones
