Looking good. I just won't pay the price. Shrimp, are a better value per pound.

I love crawfish, but in no way as far as price is concerned, will I pay $ 17.99, a pound for Louisiana crawfish tails. When I can get Louisiana or Mississippi gulf shrimp for $ 7,99 a pound.
They be like chicken wings. We threw them away when I was growing up. Then someone made hot wings and look at the price now. I may be old but I ain't stupid.

Y'all are right. But your paying for a finished product in tails. Buy a sack and it would be way cheaper for the tail meat.

When I was a kid all we would keep was specks and flounders. Now w the craze, most people eat any type of fish. To each there own I guess.

Saddaddy yes I'm fishing in the Pearl.

exactly..buy live ones and it ends up being like wut? 6-10$ per meal per person compared to 18$ per person per meal for tails....the only problem is I don't know if theres a minimum of pounds of lives ones u can buy....we always get the sacks full

Yeah, but it takes 4 lbs of crawfish to get one pound of tail meat. As with shrimp 4 lbs of shrimp will yield on average 3 3/4 lbs of meat. So at an average of $ 3.00 a lb for live crawfish, that makes $ 9.00 a lb for the meat. I will stick with the large swimp, except for making crawfish casserole. Which is great with swimp also.

Terry there is crawfish anywhere it stays wet and don't have a sandy bottom. If you can find water that stays dirty you can catch them during the day. If it's stained clear water, you can catch them at night.

I think my pond is full of them but not sure. I know my yard is full of the mud mounds they make and the cats bring small ones to the porch.

The ones in the yard are a different type. Actually there are many subspecies. How deep is your pond? Probably don't have enough in your pond if it's stocked w fish
