a good way to spend the afternoon

Postby lugnut » Tue Jan 15, 2008 12:48 am

didn't have much going on sunday so i grabbed a couple of fishing poles and the oldest daughter. it was very windy and my trolling motor battery was dead so we didn't get anywhere quickly with my puny arms manning the paddle. we did manage to catch a little crappie though. i think we may have the florida state record on our hands, don't ya think

i remember perch fishing as a kid with minows but i've never used artificial bait for them. i think i'm going to get into perch hot and heavy this year. i need to learn how to fish for them though. i hooked this one on a shad wrap while fishing for bass. we also had a couple of nightcrawlers in the water hoping for a couple of other panfish.

anybody got any good advise on fishing with the crappie jigs? color, how to rig them, how to move them through the water??? anything will help

dang, i cant believe bwm or msbanker hasn't chimed in.. they bee the crappy experts ;)

red & chartreuse tube jig is always a good place to start for crappie.. .

if your bream fishing with ultra-lights, I would start with the rooster tails (white, back, orange)

If my wife hears me mention fishing right now, she'll strangle me. It's hunting season right now and how could I be thinking of wasting more time? (In her mind)
