Congratulations DavidT!

I guess my bow season and maybe even part of gun season is done. Saturday I had to have emergency surgery for a perforation in my stomach leaking into my abdomen. The good part is that a six inch cut down the middle of my stomach, 2 days in ICU, and another 3 in the hospital, I should be good to go in about 6 weeks. I've been up about 15 minutes now and I'm beat, but I'll be back.

You just take care of yourself. You will still have time to hunt.

Just an update, I still can't hunt, but will go back to the doctor later this week. Hopefully he will let me at least shoot a low recoil rifle like a 223, or 44 mag. If so I'll be on a stand Saturday. If not I'll go sit at the camp to see what's killed, listen to the stories about them and watch football.

For you other teams that think team 4, "Team Wolverines", has slip off into obscurity and you're feeling really confident because you've been killing a few does, don't look over your shoulder because we are about to unleash our wrath on the bucks and all teams standing in our way. :W: :stir: You better get your A game together because you will need it to have any hope of hanging. We will speak as we knock you down in the mud and step on your heads as we are passing you by. :smash:

I finally got to get back in the woods last week for a couple of days before going back to work with no luck. I did get to unleash a little of my wrath today  . He's a main frame 8, but he has 2 more points that are scoreable according to the rules, so I guess he would be a 10 for the contest. Maybe I can pick up another one before long.

I drew good blood and even killed the deer. I don't know who bled the most him or me. I guess it must have been him.

At 4:30 I had 2 yearling come into my plot. One was a doe and the other one a button buck. They feed on the grass for about 45 minutes then walked over to the other side of the logs on the edge of the plot and bedded down.

It was getting close to dark and I was trying to figure out how to get down when it was time without spooking them. They were about 80 yards away, but they would still be able to see me. All of a sudden the both stood up and started up the tree line back toward the top of the hill.

I had caught a glimpse of a good buck a couple of times during the afternoon but couldn't get a shot. A buck walked out right where the yearlings had been with his head down sniffing of where she had been laying. I could tell he had pretty good horns, they looked better on the hoof, but he wouldn't look toward me. Light was fading fast and I had to make up my mind. Thinking it was the one I had seen earlier I chose to shoot him.

I knew I didn't get situated very well before I shot and paid the price. I pulled the trigger, but I had no idea what the deer did, or where he went. That happens when you split your nose open with the scope. It makes it hard to see, or even think for a moment. He didn't go far and piled up. It turned out to be a different, smaller one I had let walk several times through the year, but he's still a decent one. Add another 8 point for team 4.

Congrats! That's 13 points for the team, and there are still a couple of weeks left.
