Venison Heart

Postby gtk » Thu Dec 15, 2016 8:55 am

anyone tried it ? i've been reading on another forum about how good it is.

was at camp fri and a guy killed a deer, and i offered to clean the deer while he cooked supper. i pulled the heart out, cleaned it up good, and cut into strips. I fried it in the same batter that he was cooking porkchops, and I have to say I thought it was pretty good ! Very tender.

I got this thing about eating a heart. Just can't bring myself to do it.

I have some family that eats it. They get upset if I kill a deer and don't bring the heart to them. I am not going to eat it as long as there is back strap to eat.
