Grilled me some backstrap

Postby patinlouisiana » Mon Jan 02, 2017 6:19 pm

Even though I have had no success at the deer camp yet I did have a nice backstrap in the freezer from last year.
I tried this recipe and I thought is was very good. That, along with some fresh green beans skillet cooked with onions & bacon and some Long grain & wild rice, turned out to be a quite filling meal. One thing I will change next time is to not use the thick cut bacon. The thick bacon does not get crispy enough without over cooking the venison.
Oh and I used Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ sauce.
