Another perfect meal

Postby terry08 » Wed Oct 18, 2017 2:36 am

This past weekend, I had seared a bunch of extra thick center cut pork chops. Vacuumed sealed and froze them for future use.
Yesterday afternoon, I got home, put two cups of rice in the aroma rice cooker.
Then removed stems from four bundles of fresh collard greens and washed well.
Added 2 boxes chicken broth, to the 8 quart Power Cooker along with smoked turkey necks, dehydrated onions, red pepper, and season salt. Set timer for 45 minutes.
To the 10 quart Elite Platnium, I added three cans mushroom soup, 1 can water, season salt pepper , 1 package baby carrots and some dehydrated onions, and 8 chops.
Since it takes 10 to 15 minutes to come up to pressure, I set the time for 20 minutes cooking. The collards were done to soul food perfection and the chops finished 2 minutes later. The rice was also done.
This whole meal was cooked to perfection including cleaning the greens, in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Most of that time was spent sitting on the porch waiting.
Sherrie, came home from all afternoon doctors visits with my step dad. Turns out she hadn't eaten since morning and was starving. When she walked in she couldn't believe how wonderful the house was smelling. We both enjoyed a fantastic meal. By the way, the clean up of both cookers was maybe 8 minutes.
We have not used the oven even once this summer.
