talking about down to the wire...just remember acman that you can still be booted off your team during the season if you don't post or check in often...or don't respond to messages...glad you made it now make a point to be a regular vistor here and good luck...

Hey team Boomers I've been busy. Just wanted to checkin and tell you a little about myself. I live in Pontotoc County , self employed hvac work. I am part of a lease in Calhoun county in banner community. And I also enjoy hunting the Upper Sardis WMA. And on occasion hunt with a friend of mine in Montgomery County just south of Winona. I do bow hunt although I have only been once so far this year with no luck. I am looking forward to hopefully posting some pics of some good deer kills this season. Well got to go for now will check back later.

I haven't had time to scout much but I have never worked so much to get ready. I joined another club near where I live that required me to do several firsts: Bush hog, disc, fertilize, lime, plant, put a store bought stand together then build a platform for it, raise the platform, etc. My regular club moved from it's long time location to a new area about 20 miles away requiring us to: make new plots, clear land, fix roads, move box stands, move tower stands, build new stands, etc. We have been steadily working for months and are still not ready. There are 5 of us but only 3 of us have been doing the work. I think it will be worth it as it's beginning to come together. I believe the wife and I will have our best year yet and she is looking forward to harvesting her first buck. Hopefully we will be ready by the opening of gun season.

Honey bee, one of the most successful deer hunters I ever hunted around had very bad knees is his later years. Every time he went to a stand he would drive his 3-wheeler (yes I said 3-wheeler and he still uses it) as close as he could get it to the stand and usually would park directly under it. He said it was not how he wanted to do it, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do for your health. If that's not an option see if someone will take you to the stand to drop you off and pick you up. I hope you get a good one.
