Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison: Gen 27:3

Yeah he weighed 184 if I remember correctly. Very few deer around here will go over 200. Here in the hills anyway. A normal deer with that body would be carrying a fine set of horns. Oh well, maybe the next one will measure up.

It will be at least a week to a week and a half before I can get back on a stand. Y'all have fun hunting while I'm working.

Been trying to get as much hunting done as I can before I go back to a school and finally decided to take another doe the other day. Been trying to get a buck but we have tightened our management plan to where bucks have to be at least 4 year old to harvest them. Got one 8 point that's pushing 6 years old that's on my hit list. Hoping to get him now that the rut is starting to kick in here in Itawamba county.

One more on the books for us. An 8 point killed on Saturday, 1/11/14 after 9 hours in the stand waiting on him. I don't do that any more, but I had pictures of him morning and evening for the last 3, or 4 days. He's not huge, but mature and I'm happy with him.

Members of Team Genesis,
I have had multiple opportunities to make a kill.
It seems that as I age I am no longer as mad at deer as I used to be.
That said I will also admit the 2 bucks I wanted to kill , I missed, multiple times.
Who knows what I may do during the last few days of the season.
A couple of high points of My season was my LuLu having a successful hunt and me making her some jerky.
I congratulate all my team members on their hunts, Hopefully I will find one I can hit before 01-31-2014.
