I posted the does I got. Did not see a buck from the stand all year. Saw lots of does, and the freezer is full. It was fun watching the kids connect.

Did not see a legal buck all year. And we decided at the beginning of the year not to shoot any does on our property due to the small numbers we had on camera.
I did see a first this year, in that last Saturday there was a fawn still sucking on a doe.

Also just starting to find scrapes on our property this past weekend. Will probably be watching the rut during Turkey season.

It is February 17th, and I am seeing does with new born fawns. Not sure how to hunt anymore.

Okay now, that is really weird. The left will probably blame that on Trump :smash: :smash: :smash: :rotflol: :rotflol:

Might be the reason they are needing the tagging system. The biologists are probably scratching their heads trying to figure it out. Bet they will blame it on global warming.

I am not sure we even have a rut as such anymore. Last year I saw a spotted fawn in late January. I went to the lease yesterday to pull cameras and so more scrapes than I saw all season. I have lots of does on camera. Lots, I guess next year we need to kill a few more.

One thing I noticed, use to when the rut was on groups of does would split up. Not anymore, I saw groups right until the end of the season, and still have them on camera. Maybe that's just another indication of too many does.

Two years ago on the same lease I did not see a deer all year and had few on camera, I almost let the property go. Not sure what happened that year.

On the place I like to hunt more than the others I never saw the first rub or scrap. One of my hunting buddies said he saw a few in one area. We had several bucks and a couple of good bucks on camera but all at night and never in the daytime. There where a couple of good deer killed off this place but none of the ones on camera.

It isn't in uncommon in years of heavy mast for deer sighting to be down they don't have to move for food and when they are pressured they just move food is so abundant they can eat every where they go

Bigsteve in our area we had a huge drought, and the mast just wasn't there, not even early. Some areas did have lots of acorns, and I did try to hunt the hardwoods. I saw deer, lots of does, just not the Bucks.

Yep the drought was a big factor too it brought the ehd and took quite a few of our bucks I fortunately had a couple new places to use and was able to take 4 nice bucks but as you all have stated most of my season was slow almost no buck sightings

The acorns had basically set when the drought hit us, and we ended up with an unbelievable crop, but I rarely saw the deer eating acorns. Most of the deer I saw seemed to be on a mission to get somewhere else......just passing through our place.
