Team winners.... I mean #1

Postby chadbragg » Wed Sep 26, 2018 8:10 am

I'm packed and ready. Heading up to Kentucky Friday evening. Gonna get in a little hunting this weekend! They were supposed to have the corn cut but according to my cam pictures it's still standing, that'll make it tough, but maybe something will sneak out of the corn!

Good luck. If it’s not cut check the oak trees. If acorns are falling you know where to be.

The problem is they stay in the corn! The guys in the lease took a thermal and scanned the field last trip up and it was full of bedded deer. I'm hoping one slips up

That looks like beans w corn in the background. I’ve hunted the Midwest 4 years in a row. Yes there is deer in standing corn and deer eating soybeans if they are green. If acorns are falling in the woods, the big buck your after will most likely be in the woods. Was the same way when I hunted oos. The one year there wasn’t an acorn crop the beans were the ticket.

Kentucky was a bust, but I'm gonna sit a stand on 3ac in the middle of town tomorrow. I have 5 good bucks using the area. Hoping I can get a shot before they change up their pattern.
