What is important to you?

Postby patinlouisiana » Tue Nov 08, 2011 10:11 pm

What are your must haves when you go hunting?
Binoculars?
Range Finder?
Bologna sandwich?

What goes in you pack before you will even think about taking a stand?

my only true essentials are bullets, water, and tp. They're the only things that'll make me stop and go back to camp to get. I like to take pretty much the same as everyone else but I can do without them if I forget them.

safety harness is a "given".. Just like bullets & gun..

Lee made me realize too, I forgot to list TP.. Some days, that can be MORE important than a gun or bullets..

I was just figuring what goes in my backpack. I usually put my harness on in the shed before I leave camp. Definitely have the safety harness on in all my hunts from trees though

Amen on the safety harness. I forgot to include it because I put it on before I ever leave camp.

I don't carry a backpack. The few things I need easily fit in cargo pockets on my hunting pants or strapped on my belt. Here's my list:

Wind up LED flashlight
Menthol honey lemon cough drops
Kleenex
Eyeglasses
Bottled water
Cased pocket knife
Apple or snack
Smart phone

Hunting clothes are worn to suit the conditions. My bow and quiver or gun with clips or ammo belt are carried with me. That's all I need.

Since switching to the Galaxy S phone. I have pretty much eliminated everything except rifle, shells and toilet tissue. And soon there should be an app for that also. :rotflol:

Poor folks (like me) dont have much other than a rifle and a bullet or two so i cant think of anything that would make me head back home other than that. And as yall well know, i am pretty crafty so toilet paper is a luxury i can do without.
