At 25 yards 1 click is 1/4" or 4 clicks is 1 inch

Scopes are a funny thing...
The other day when I was fixing to get out of my box and go have lunch I decided to see if I could pop a black bird about 250 or 300 yards away. POOF feather storm.
But you put a relaxed standing buck broadside at 125 yards and that darn scope goes haywire :rotflol: :rotflol: :rotflol:

It will take 16 clicks to move it 1 inch at 25 yards.

Pat, I'll have to print this out and frame it. I don't hear that very often. :)

I thought they were 1 click - 1 inch @ 25yds, and 1 click - 1/4 inch @ 100yds.

Am I wrong?

I think you might be.
It is geometry. You are actually dealing with an angle.
For arguments sake let us say 45 degree.
You are at the intersection of two lines set 45 degrees apart.
Just a few feet away the lines are several feet apart but across the room they are 20 or 30 feet apart.
The farther away the larger the distance gets.
That said if at 25 yards the distance were 1" then at 100 yards the distance would be 4" since 25 goes into 100 4 times.
Make sense?
