The QSMA Pro-Staff hits the lake for some bowfishing

I thought this trip was gonna be a bust since 4th's Recurrent Acute Elephantiasis Vaginitis started acting up again. But, a quick trip to the doc's office to get some shots and such got him pretty well fixed up. He only whined slightly more than normal on this trip. We did hit the seafood buffet again before getting out on the lake to make sure we could keep our strength up. The crablegs were gooooood.

I let 4th miss fish for the first 2 hours or so before I took over and started bagging some garfishes and carps.

We ended up hitting a few fish towards the end. But we did a lot more missing than last time we were out, for some reason. 4th did manage to shoot 4 or 5 cypress knees. Donno what the limit is on those things.

I did not know Crappie were legal targets.
And just what does bow fishing have to do with the QSMA???

Well, its kinda complicated but the jist of it is that we talked about squirrels some while on the trip.

" I let 4th miss fish for the first 2 hours or so "

Has it just not occured to him to sit in the boat for the first couple of hours ? Then when he started shootin ..... it wouldn't take him as long to connect , I mean it ain't rocket science

Ya know Mag, I have to be honest about this, that had not occured to either of us. I am going to suggest that to him at the first opportunity though.

I am not 1 to complain to much or make excuses but I have to say I was feeling some kinda awfull most all day and was dealing with all kinds of aches and pains. My darn eyes were twitching and watering and glazing over. I was having a more difficult time than usual holding the light and looking for fish to shoot whilst Bullie drove around at 10 mph. There had to be quadrillions of mosquitoes on that little lake trying to suck the last drop of blood out of me ( I am very sweet you know). On top of all that I then had to hold the light and push us along while Bullie shot at fish 5 feet from the boat and got his arrow lodged in several cypress knots. He also made it hard to concentrate when he almost started crying when a snake got near the boat. I tell you what it was a tough night but tons of fun nonetheless.

He was pretty down with the RAEV Mag. As you can tell from his post, he was whining slightly more than is usual.

I really don't remember him doing much pushing. Most of the time when he was moving the boat it was in an attempt to dislodge his arrow from a cypress knee. I was responsible for moving the boat 99% of the time.

I was standing on the livewell in the middle of the boat using a bamboo gaph Smitty has and I was rough guessing on the number of mosquitoes. I would say though that it should be purty close to accurate. Bullie did do alot of the pushing but it was strange how I would hold the light and he would push while I was the shooter but when he was the shooter I did the pushing and held the light most of the time. Funny huh.

You probably just tried to do that out of guilt. It has to bother you to whine so much.

Thanks.

He said he is bringing his coon lights...and Jr. No matter what we should have a light holder. Two bows and 3 folks...somebody should be holding the light at all times.

We had a blast last night! Jr. is deadly with a bow and ON A BOW. He hit 5 fish in a row at one point!! Then, he decided VaHunter's bow was shooting too hard so he decided to lighten the poundage for him. Well, he lightened it alright. PATOOOOOOW! and the bow was in 3 parts. So then he really had hit made. He became the fish assassin!!! He had me poling the boat around for him and his dad holding the light.

Had a great time fishing with you guys! Lets do it again!

The Sabatoged bow
I was fixin to put a hurtin on some fish and Jr noticed I was zeroing in on my targets when he said Dad your poundage is to high let me see it. I hand the bow to jr and I grabbed the light to shine for bullie then POWWW!! I was glad that Jr wasn't hurt but let me tell ya he was skerd that I was going to through him in the lake.. lol. I've had this bow for a few years and love it. It's a custom Bow that I had built in Va. cpl years before I moved here to MS.
If there is anyone close to Olive Branch that has a bow vise and is willing to help me out let me know.. :)

Dannnnnnnnnng.. Glad Jr didn't get hurt (by dad or the bow) .. That could have ended ugly for someone..

I noticed Jr registered, but he hasn't "activated" his account.. I assume its to tell his side of the story :P

I 'spect my side of the story was the best. Just being an observer and all. And, well, just being me and all.
