There doesn't seem to be very many duck hunters on this forum, but I have to ask, who is going to be chasing some teal this upcoming saturday?

I love duck hunting just as much as deer hunting...so take it easy on me :)

John David, Over the years I have come to the conclusion that duck hunters are insane. :) Why would a sane person want to hunt in the worst of all weather. Cloudy, cold, and the wind blowing like a hurricane. Heck they might even like a little mist falling and ice around the edge of the lake they are hunting. Who but a duck hunter would stand in ice cold water up to mid-thigh for hours. And all of that, just to shoot at some little feathered critter flying at about a gillion mph! Who else but a duck hunter would work with a dog for hours and hours. Just to train him to jump in that ice cold water 3 or 4 times a year. :D

The thrill I get is just as good if not better than killing a buck when I can call in a bird that may have been in 5 other states that week and it listens to me as I gently try to sing it a lullaby to hopefully get lucky enough to in the end put it sleep.;)@ we don't hunt like that we sit in a pit with coffee and breakfast telling war stories with a heater and enjoying life and the outdoors. You're missing out c'mon down to s la and we Will go chase some speckled bellies!!!

Bgizzle, I have a very good friend that is an avid duck hunter. He also raises and trains Yellow Labs. I'm sure my friend and his three boys will be after those ducks.

I heard that this year should be a great year for ducks because of the severe drought up north...no water and corn fields very poor....

Not me johndavid i quit duck hunting many years ago and got more into turkey hunting....now i know that they are not going on at the same time but back when i hunted ducks there was a lot more ducks than now and places to hunt where a lot easier to come by. The club that i have belonged to for the pass 40 years ownes land right in the middle of McIntyre Lake by Malmasion and has some of if not the best duck hunting in Mississippi. How don't get me wrong i at one time loved to duck hunt and would stop deer hunting to go duck hunting but i just got burnt out on it.

I do hope y'all have good luck this weekend.

Wish I was going, but I still got a few more weeks til I am back in Alaska. I have yet to hunt ducks in MS, but hope to do so in the future. Good luck to all this year.

As far as teal, we have a few but, I am usually playing in the deer woods this time of year instead of chasing teal. Plus, I don't like snakes
