opening dove season
I'm going to Abilene for the opener! Sounds like lots of white wings are showing up. I've got a case of Rio's an itchy trigger finger, We'll see how things goes. I've had my stuff packed for a week already and the season is still 3 days away.

Re: opening dove season
Good luck! I think I'm gonna pass on the hunt that I was going to go on at my friends field. Lots of fun for sure! Just don't think it's gonna work out for me.

Thanks huntall, Sorry your going to miss the opening but I understand I've missed some myself. Sometimes life gets in the way of hunting and sometimes it's the other way around?

May God Bless you lugnutzz because doing the Lords work is way more important than opening day of any hunting season. I wish that more men put The Lord first in their lives instead of hunting. Don't get me wrong I love to hunt and fish as much as the next person. However, The Lord comes first.

Re: opening dove season
I have had some of my best prayer time in God's creation while waiting in a deer stand before daylight.

Re: opening dove season
I agree I have also had some off my best time praying to The Lord while in a blind or treestand. What I was referring to are those you completely stop going to church during hunting season or the will make hunting their main priority instead if worshipping The Lord.

It gets daylight an hour later here so maybe 8 am before we have a heat stroke!
It's only suppose to be 98 for the high in Abilene tomorrow and that's better than yesterday here it was 104.

Re: opening dove season
Congrats sidog!
We had only a handful of birds today. Pigeons were flying out the wazoo, but doves were all but non-existent !
We still had a great day, lots of food & fellowship !
