Discounted Seed from "Wildlife Mississippi"

Postby gtk » Fri Jul 29, 2005 9:48 am

If anyone wasnt aware, their is a group called the "Mississippi Fish and Wildlife Foundation", and they are offering seeds for food plots at a discounted price. They offer Corn, Soybeans, Sorguhm, Sunflowers, and Wheat.

Winter Wheat is the only thing currently available. I guess you have to catch them at a certain time for the others.

Shipping and handling charges incurred by Wildlife Mississippi are included in the price of the seed. Persons ordering seed will be required to pick it up in Amory, Greenville or Hattiesburg.

A 50 lb bag of wheat is $5.00. I dont think thats too bad. If it wasnt so far away, I'd get some.

Thanks gtk, I'm only 30 minutes from Amory. I'll have to stop by and get a few bags of wheat this weekend.

There's an order form on their website. I dont know if you need to call first or not, but it probably wouldnt hurt.

if you call, find out what other seeds they will carry & when..

thx

I was curious as to when the discounted seed would be available and gave them MS wildlife a call. They said to look for it starting in February, early March. Just FYI.

After all the farmers lost their cotton, and soy bean in my area last year. All that is planted is corn this year.
I am surrounded by corn on all sides and am already seeing deer every where around my place. Looks like it will be a Great Season. Just hope I can get one bigger than an eight point. My walls are covered in eight points.
