My Bradford pear tree needs help.

Postby mogua13 » Fri May 30, 2014 8:18 pm

My Bradford pear tree has something going on with it. It's putting off a orange/red pollen like but don't have flowers. This powder is coming from the tiny little pear type fruit it makes. And there is a parasite looking thing growing on all of them. Any ideas what this is here are a few pics of the fruits.ImageImage

It's not going to hurt your tree at all, but it will cause the pears to drop.
It's some form of cedar rust that can effect pears.
It's not a big issue except the appearance.
The main thing that happens is fruit loss when this happens.
More than likely next year will be fine.
It does not carry over to the next year from what I have seen.
