New Primitive Weapon Rule

What does everyone think about bringing in the primitive guns pre-1900
even breech loaders. I'll bet some 45/70's are already on order or back ordered at least. :?:

I would LOVE to have a 45/70 whelen :)

Personally, I think with the accuracy of modern day muzzleloaders, we completely omitted what muzzle-loading season was designed to do, and thats is to let the rut happen without a lot of hunters in the woods with high-powered rifles. Heck, you could hunt just about all season with a muzzle loader and still have about the same chance as you do with a .270 :)

I think we have so many deer now, muzzle loading is more like a "tradition" than a management need.

I've checked around and the little H&R single shots are only about $200.
Wal-mart is $199.95 special order only.
Dealers about $190, but pay shipping and tax Wally wins the price war.
Think I might get a Sharps Replica though with 32" barrel and load Black-Powder shells on at least a 400gr lead bullet

IMO a properly loaded and tested in-line would out perform the older calibers. it all about proper loading and if one can be consistant everytime then performance will show. only good to using cartridge is weather
