I got to the only suitable stand I had for the wind at around 0640. The weather was nice and cool but not cold and very enjoyable. At 0700 a young 4 point walked out of the woods about 60 yards away and was working my direction. Now, this wasn't a deer I was going to shoot but it was great to see a deer 20 minutes into my first hunt of the season. And working his way into bow range at that. At 0703, I heard a new to me sound in the woods. What I could only imagine was one of the clubs new fancy spin cast feeder slinging feed. Mr. 4 point makes a B-line in that direction and I didn't see another deer the rest of the morning. I imagined them all standing under the feeder waiting for it to go off, laughing at me. :(

Deer are hard to figure out.. i tried feeders on our place several years.. As far as I know, the deer on our place never utilized the feeder.. All the pics I ever got was blue jays, squirrels, coons, and crows.. Never one single deer. Yet some other places the deer really tear the feeders up..

Once they get used to them they will be there waiting for them to start running.......we don't allow any on our club and as far as the clubs next to us, i don't think they do either.
