I am Happy

Postby terry08 » Mon Nov 03, 2014 7:36 am

With the results. Decided to do one last test fire. I cleaned the bore and figured the first shot would be a little high, and so was the second. I opened the bolt and let cool between shots. I don't have a lead slead, so just use the cypress beam for a rest. The bull is 4 inch at 100 yds. The next five shots I can live with. The two on right are actually three. Two in the same hole. I am sure some of you can do better, but for me, I am pleased.

I would like a tighter group, but for a valued price rifle and the eye sight not being what it used to be. I can live with it. Heck dusty, I may try for ten.

There is nothing wrong with that shooting. Well the fact it was about $20 worth of ammo is wrong, but the shot placement is good. You almost have to be rich these days to be able to practice. I my younger years I would go through 1 or 2 boxes checking my gun and playing before the season. Now I try to keep it to 1 or 2 bullets. :bash:

I have Simmons on all of mine, hopefully I can up grade some day too.
I did have a Bushnell bone collector, but the eye relief was horrible and the cross hairs were not bold enough for me.
I got my $$ back.

My son has one in.243, it loves federals. Tack driver for sure. I did a little work on the bolt to smooth the action alittle
