Re: DEER SEASON NEARLY OVER LETS WET A HOOK
bwm & went to wallyworld @ lunch.. they had moved all the deer hunting stuff, plus a lot of fishing/camping stuff, to the clearance isle..
As far a new stuff, I just stick to the old basics for me:
Rooster Tails for bream.
Buzzbait, spinnerbait, worm for bass
jigs for crappie
stink bait for cats..

Spinnerbaits & Gary Yamamoto's "Swim Senko" about the only two things I used last year and caught plenty.

Re: DEER SEASON NEARLY OVER LETS WET A HOOK
I had never heard of the "senko" until last year. I was fishing with a buddy who swore by it but yet I just kept on fishing with my spinnerbait until he had about 20 in the boat and I had about 2. I was hooked after that and used them alot last year. The only drawback to the "senko" is they are about $4 or $5 a pack and they're only good for about 2 fish each.

Texas rig without a weight. You can pretty much fish it anywhere timber, grass, etc. very easy to fish. Just be sure and let the fish take it a bit before you set the hook.

My dad is mainly a bass fisherman. I think he uses those.. He uses all kinds of things I just snicker at.. He catches a lot of big fish though.. Plastic frogs and rats to me are the funniest.

I've got coyotes and beavers to kill, no time for fishing.

I've used the mice and had decent success with them but only in grass and weeds. The mice were like 2" long with a 2.5" tail.

I haven't heard much about the swim baits except for the guys using them in CA but I don't see any reason they wouldn't work here.
