Check your factory ammo !!!!!!

Postby White Oak 06 » Tue Jan 27, 2015 11:03 am

I bought some Nosler accubonds for my 30-06 the other day and when I got home I pulled out my ol' reading glasses and found a round that was stamped 25-06.

I called Nosler and they are sending UPS to the house to pick them up and replace them.
I have found so many discrepancies with factory ammo in the past couple of years.

Measure twice cut once !

The reverse of that situation(30-06 in a 25-06) could be catastrophic!

I have never looked, just always trusted them. Better start checking, better safe than sorry.

I bet you are really ready to get started handloading with your experiences with factory ammo. That is crazy! And MT is absolutely correct !!! Unreal.

Were the bullets themselves 308 or 257 ?

Yeah ! I measured everything with my calipers and it was a .308 bullet and 3006 case but the powder wasn't compressed like the other rounds ( I could hear it shake inside ) .

Yeah I'm ready to reload , I hope I can be successful like you guys !
